A Death Certificate, which is an official legal document, can be requested from the Government of Saskatchewan. It is most commonly needed for transferring land titles.

A Funeral Director’s Statement of Death, often used for estate settlement, banking, canceling insurance, and other purposes, can be provided by your funeral home. It is advisable to obtain multiple certified copies of the Funeral Director’s Statement of Death, as many institutions require an original document rather than a photocopy.
