Obituary of Herbert Gerald HARRON

Herbert Gerald Harron of Lafleche, SK, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the age of 89 years. Herb was born on the family farm near Woodrow, SK, on January 24, 1924; he was the second of four children born to Frank and Mildred (nee Passmore) Harron. Herb farmed west of Thomson Lake and a portion of his land was homesteaded by Herb's grandfather, George Passmore. He took great pride in caring for his Arabian horses and was a member of the Wood River Riding Club. Herb greatly enjoyed the many trail rides he went on with the riding club. He also took part in the Boundary Commission Trail Ride and rode on the trail from Wood Mountain to Val Marie, and went on trail rides in Cypress Hills, Kelowna, BC and Ram Falls, AB. Herb married Marjorie West and they were blessed with a daughter, Debbie and son, Jeffrey. They raised their family on the farm northwest of Lafleche, moving into town in 1968. Herb is survived by her loving family, daughter Debbie (Dave) Williamson, grandson David (Edna), great grandchildren D.J. and Sam, grandson Bradley, great granddaughter Nevaeh, grandson Trent; son Jeffrey (Louise), grandson Jason (Nasturtia), great grandchildren Gabrial, Lennon, Abigail, Grayson, grandsons Christopher and Jeremy. At Herb's request no funeral service will be held.
