Obituary of Carol Collinson
Carol Collinson (nee Walters)
October 13, 1946 – December 30, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Carol Joan Collinson, long-time resident of Kincaid Saskatchewan.
Carol passed away at the age of 76 years. She was born and raised in Melavel Saskatchewan. In 1967 Carol married Robert (Bob) Collinson and together they raised two beautiful children, Donette &Travis of whom she was very proud of. Her passion was her family. In her younger years, she enjoyed Donette and Travis with the many sports and activities that they participated in. Then came her grandchildren, Brett, Robyn, Reagan, Jaxson, and Taytan. On every visit, and every chance she had, she would have a new story to tell about her cherished Grandchildren. She was so proud of all of their accomplishments, and the activities that they participated in. She especially like to watch football, and was a good Rider fan, as well as a fan of her Grandson Reagan, and his Football endeavours.
Carol was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2010; parents Arthur and Julia Walters, brothers Robbie Walters, Gary Walters, Roger Walters, and sisters Louise Lachowitzer and Elaine Johnson.
Left to cherish Carol’s memory are her children and grandchildren: Donette and Les; Brett, Robyn, Reagan – Travis and Melanie; Jaxson, and Taytan, and her little companion Nikki. as well as her special niece Cindy Clermont and husband Gerry, brothers; Donnie Walters; Jerry and Lucille Walters; as well as her brothers in law Bryon and MaryLou Collinson, Francis and Verna Collinson and sister in law Brenda and Larry Halvorson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In her spare time, Mom enjoyed hairdressing, cooking, baking, family reunions, and spending time with her family, but her real passion was her garden and her flowers. Her door was always open to her family and friends, and prior to her health issues, there would always be a tasty homemade snack or treat and a cup of coffee for everyone that visited. She especially loved the visits from her brothers-in-law Bryon and Francis and enjoyed reminiscing about the pranks and jokes that they would play on each other. She could at times have an opinion and was not afraid to speak her mind if it came to her family. She had an infectious laugh/snort that made many of us just laugh louder and longer.
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors that took such good care of her as she was going through those very difficult health issues. The family would also like to thank family, friends, and special friends in the community that went out of their way to make Mom more comfortable in her home, the place she loved to be. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all that had the privilege to know her. The spring was the time of year that Carol enjoyed the most, At her request, there will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, George St E, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, please take time to enjoy a dinner, homemade baking, or a good cup of coffee with your loved ones. Life is short and precious, and every minute spent with a loved one, is a newly made memory. In memory of Carol, donations can be made to the Kincaid & District Health Centre Board Inc.
