Obituary of Marcia Marshall
Marcia Marshall
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marcia Trudy Marshall from Big Beaver on May 29, 2023, at the age of 76. Marcia was born on February 7, 1947, in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. She was the daughter of Ambrose and Henrietta Farrell. Marcia attended school in Big Beaver and later pursued her education at the University of Regina. She embarked on her career as a grade 3 teacher at Coronach School. She later dedicated many years as the postmistress in Big Beaver while lending a helping hand on the family farm.
On December 24, 1966, Marcia married the love of her life, Bob Marshall. Together, they were blessed with three beautiful children: Caramia, Colin, and Clinton. They raised their family in Big Beaver and later moved a house to the farm. Marcia had a deep love for flowers and took joy in tending to her garden, canning, and pickling, and spent many hours in the kitchen. She also cherished spending time with family and friends, enjoyed playing many hands of cards, doing crossword puzzles, and watching game shows on the television with the grandkids. She loved her morning coffee and always had a project on the go as she always had to be busy, there was never a dull moment. Marcia had a passion for the outdoors and found solace in camping, spending her days at the lake, fishing, and sitting by the warm campfire after a fulfilling day.
Despite facing a courageous battle with cancer that resulted in the loss of her leg, Marcia continued to exhibit unwavering love for her family, especially her grandchildren, of whom she was immensely proud of. Her absence will be deeply felt, and her memory will be forever cherished. Marcia’s life motto was “Every day is a new beginning. Take a deep breath, smile, and start again.” She had a great view of the world and a positive outlook on every situation. Marcia will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Marcia is survived by her loving husband Bob Marshall, her daughter Caramia (Barry) Anderson, her sons Colin (Tracy) Marshall and Clinton (Jackie) Marshall, and her grandchildren Scotia Anderson, Clayton Anderson, Layne Marshall, Leah Marshall, Liam Marshall, Orrin Marshall, Kyler Marshall, and Rand Marshall. She is also survived by her brother Don (Barb) Farrell, sister Geri Brown (Cam), brother-in-law Jim Brown (Virginia), and sister-in-law Betty Lafoy. Marcia was predeceased by her grandson Kyle Anderson (1995), parents Ambrose and Henrietta and siblings Vivian (Fred) Leader, Corky Lafoy, and Louise (John) Brown.
A private family service will be held. Everyone is invited to a luncheon in Marcia’s honour on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Big Beaver Hall.
