I remember Connie loved to read on the back deck of the family home during her time off from work. Though I was little, Connie was a quiet companion for me and seemed to have a deeper understanding than anyone else of the reality of my childhood. Connie was a patient and kind adult in my life that only we knew about. I imagine her as a good parent to her children and likewise she was a good example for me of how to enjoy the peacefulness of solitary time. I respected her silence greatly and my memories of her are that I played quetly on the lower steps of the deck while she read her books. We didn't need to talk, the company was enough. I send my condolences to the family, of Connie, George, Susan, and I cherish those memories of being your little neighbor. Donna Cale, across the alley in Assiniboia
