Obituary of Donna Howard
Donna Freeda Howard was born on March 9, 1956, in Bengough, Saskatchewan and was the beloved and only daughter of Frederick and Dorothy (nee Williams) Howard. Donna's early years were marked by a strong sense of community and a nurturing spirit. She attended school in Bengough and, after graduating, dedicated herself to caring for numerous children in her community. Later in life, she became a beacon of support for senior ladies, running errands and providing companionship. Donna delighted in her photo albums, and her remarkable ability to remember dates, especially birthdays which endeared her to many. Moving next door to the Hoag family brought immeasurable comfort, and their steadfast support became a cherished blessing, especially after the loss of her mother in 1984. Donna's resilience shone through as she managed on her own for several years. When the demands of yard work became too much, she moved into the Villa, and later to the Bengough Health Centre where she enjoyed the company of others. Her love for bingo was infectious, and she particularly revelled in the joy of victory. Donna had a fondness for Kentucky Fried Chicken and absolutely loved listening to Wilf Carter's music. Her care for others was a blessing to the community and she will be dearly missed. Donna peacefully passed on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Bengough Health Centre. She is reunited in heaven with her parents Frederick and Dorothy Howard and leaves many special friends to cherish her memory.
A Graveside Service in loving memory of Donna will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bengough Cemetery. Lunch and fellowship will follow at the Bengough Drop In Centre.
