In a box of cards I found a 2006 Christmas letter from Bronie to my mother Olga Shwec (nee Holubowich). Reading it I noticed that Bronie and my mother were likely childhood friends growing up in the Point St-Charles district of Montreal. My mother is in a living assistance facility and has dementia. She only remembers older events and people. I took the letter to my mother yesterday (February 10, 2024) and asked her if she remembered her childhood friend Bronie Stebnicki. My mother smiled and said of course I remember her. How's she doing ? I said fine. In spite of their poverty it seems they had a wonderful childhood. May Bronie rest in peace - and thank you for the letter. Greg Shwec

My Deepest Sympathy Peter and Marianne and families. A Beautiful Glowing Angel fell a sleep in Jesus's arms and is now enjoying much deserved rest, happiness and glory. Bronie was such a kind woman. She never ever forgot about us at Christmas. I always got a special gift from your FAMILY. Our family spent many Sundays at your house after church. The food was so delicious and there was always plenty to go around. Your mom's Chiffon cake was to die for. I remember staying at your house while my parents went on a holiday. Your mom made sure we all said our prayers and were tucked in with a warm kiss on the cheek. Bronie took us out to the barn in the spring to see the new born kittens and calves. She was so gentle and caring to mother nature 's creations. She taught us how to pick eggs and to move that hens behind to check for eggs without getting pecked.
I think my most fond memory was church picnics on Huska's pasture near Poplar Hill. Bronie always brought everything for lunch except the kitchen sink.
Bronie I'm extremely lucky our families were close because I had the pleasure of having an angel at my side many a time. Thank You for being so kind to me and for teaching me so many things. In the entire time I knew You I never ever heard You complain or say anything negative about anyone.
Rest in Peace
Lots of Love ❤️
PS Did Uou know that my dad cracked an egg on Peter's head!!!

Condolences, during this difficult time. I enjoyed my visits with Bronie, she was so welcoming and generous with her knowledge. I will always think of her when we have pear pie.
