Obituary of Bill Bochek
William Roy Bochek passed away on December 16, 2023, at the Herbert and District Health Facility in Herbert, Saskatchewan. Born on September 17, 1945, Bill was the second child of Roy and Myrtle Bochek. He attended Fair Valley School and Hodgeville School, graduating in 1963. After completing his education, Bill worked in Regina and Saskatoon before relocating to Winnipeg in 1973. In 1997, he returned to Hodgeville, where he found fulfillment in helping his brother Bob with farming.
Bill had a profound passion for cooking, finding immense joy in preparing delicious meals for those around him. An enthusiastic hunter, he cherished time spent outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Bill was also a sports enthusiast, particularly a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. His dedication extended to staying well-informed, spending several hours daily watching Fox News. Known for his teasing nature, Bill was a character who left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Janet Bochek, and his children - daughter Amber Bochek (Steve), with twin grandchildren Jackson and Aria, and son Jason Bochek (Dee). He is also survived by Janet's children – son John Martin and granddaughter Brooke, and son James Martin (Kelly), along with grandson Quade. Bill is survived by his siblings Bob Bochek (Betty), Anne Hackney, Tom (Karen) Bochek, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Myrtle (nee Schous) Bochek, sister Fran Stacey, sister-in-law Jane Bochek, and brother-in-law Doug Hackney.
A private family interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Bill will be dearly missed by his family and friends, leaving behind cherished memories of warmth, humour, and love.
