On Thursday, January 18, 2024, Eileen Grace Ulph passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at the age of 97.  Eileen was born on August 25, 1926 on the family farm south of Shamrock, the fourth child to Henry and Vira Candlish.  Eileen grew up on the family farm and attended school in Shamrock.  She later worked in a sewing factory in Vancouver for a short while before returning home to care for her mother.  On December 15, 1955, Eileen married the love of her life, Charlie Ulph.  They lived on the Tompkins farm where they were blessed with two children.  Nancy born in 1957 and Hal born in 1960.  In 1965 they moved into Shamrock to the Slim Bent house behind the rink.  In the fall of 1975 they bought and moved into the Sam Smith house.  Eileen really loved this house and really made it into a home where all family and friends were welcome.  Eileen and Charlie always grew big gardens.  She also enjoyed canning, baking, and cooking and loved to entertain family and friends.  They were blessed with five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Eileen sure loved to spoil them every chance she got.  In November of 2011, Charlie and Eileen moved into the Pioneer Villa in Gravelbourg.  Eileen spent many hours building puzzles and visiting with friends while living there.  When Charlie passed away May 11, 2014, Eileen continued to reside at the Pioneer Villa until May 2019 when she moved into the Foyer D’Youville.  She loved it any time her family visited and would light up when she saw you.  She enjoyed the activities offered at the Foyer and was often found bowling or playing bingo.  She was very lucky at bingo and would often win.  Eileen was always a very cheerful person and gave the best hugs and kisses.  Left to cherish Eileen’s memory are her daughter Nancy (Rene) Fortin, grandson Marc (Kerri), great grandchildren Ashley, Kylie, Reilly, granddaughter Lindsey, grandson Tristan (Emily); son Hal (Lisa) Ulph, grandson Morgan (Angel), great grandson Scott (Chelsea), grandson Aaron (Leah), great grandchildren Ethan, Saphira, Aurora, Anna, Tiberius; sister Margaret Kinch.  Predeceased by her husband, Charlie Ulph; parents Henry and Vira Candlish; great granddaughter Acacia Ulph; sisters Gordena, Hannah (Ann), Audrey; brothers Art, Clifford, John and Alfred.A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at the Shamrock Community Hall, Shamrock, Saskatchewan with Pastor Rick Hawreschuk officiating.Family Interment at the Shamrock Cemetery.
