Obituary of Joe Bouffard
Joe Bouffard
Joseph Jean Charles Fernand Bouffard, lovingly known as Joe, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, in Regina, Saskatchewan, at the age of 84 years.
Joe was born on August 29, 1940, in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. He attended Jardin d’Enfance and Collège Mathieu in Gravelbourg and briefly studied in Kincaid. In the spring of 1957, he left school to pursue farming, beginning a lifelong connection to the land.
On October 19, 1968, Joe married Delores Clermont in Ferland, Saskatchewan. Together, they lived south of Kincaid for three years before moving to the paternal farm NE 9-7-8 W3 in December 1971. They continued the laying hen business Joe's mother had started in 1948, alongside raising cattle, pigs, and grain farming. Joe and Delores were blessed with three children: Gisele in 1969, Robert in 1972, and Réal in 1975.
After Delores’ passing on December 18, 2012, Joe remained on the farm until health concerns required additional care. Despite these challenges, his deep connection to the land and his love for his family never waned.
Joe leaves behind his loving family: daughter Giselle Bouffard (Jeff Hay); grandchildren Janae (Wyatt) and Raelynne (Jenden); great-grandchildren Brooks and Brynleigh; son Robert Bouffard; grandchildren Josée (Malachi), Éric, and Désirée; son Réal (Rachelle) Bouffard; granddaughter Toraleigh (Ian).
He is also survived by his sisters Louisa Lacasse, Yvonne Thibault, Monique (Bob) Marciszyn, Doris Hunter and Claudette (Elphie) Bouvier, as well as his sisters-in-law Jeanine Bouffard and Angèle Bouffard.
Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife Delores (née Clermont) Bouffard; parents Ephrem and Antonia (née Bouvier) Bouffard; brothers Léonard Bouffard and Adrien Bouffard; sister Pierrette Douville; brothers-in-law Ernest Douville, Paul-Emile Lacasse, Marcel Thibault, and Earl Hunter.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church. Joe will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Delores in the Ferland Roman Catholic Cemetery.
