Obituary of Raymond Boutin

Raymond Wilfrid Hormisdas Boutin of Gravelbourg, SK, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 87 years.

Raymond was born on September 7, 1937, in Gravelbourg, SK.

On July 29, 1965, Raymond married Odile (née Gauthier/ Boire) and were blessed with 6 daughters; three stepdaughters (Aline, Laurianne, Cecile) and three daughters (Monique, Valeda and Anita).

Raymond received his education in Gravelbourg at the College Mathieu. He then went down east to pursue a career in Meteorology. A decision was made to return to Gravelbourg to farm the family farm. Raymond took great pride in farming. He was very particular in how he farmed and maintained the yard. He also loved to tinker in the shop and was a skilled welder and machinist. But the “weatherman” always came out, "Look at those cumulus clouds, a storm is coming!"

Another passion was flying. Dad obtained his pilot’s license and loved his Cessna Plane. Raymond and Odile worked hard to make their home and home quarter beautiful. There was always a "Bologna Sandwich and a pop after working the trees."

Raymond is survived by his loving family, wife Odile of 59 years, daughter Laurianne (George Nightingale), Monique (Brian Ogle), Valeda and Anita (Lonnie Maier) along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Raymond is predeceased by his parents Wilfrid Boutin and Gracia (née Lefort) Boutin, sister Rheanne Hollebeke and brother-in-law Cyril Hollebeke, brother Alain Boutin, daughters Aline and Cecile and grandson Ben.

A private celebration of Raymond's Life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in Gravelbourg, SK.
