Obituary of Fay Emms
Fay Henrietta Emms (nee Bechal) passed away suddenly on April 29, 2015, in a tragic farming accident south of Mankota, Saskatchewan. Fay was born in the hospital at Mankota on March 20, 1958. She was the youngest of five girls born to Fred and Cecile (nee Carrier) Bechal. She was raised on a farm southeast of Mankota and attended school in Ferland and Mankota. In 1974, Fay was married and was blessed with daughter Kerri in 1979. In 1984, she married Glen Emms and gained another daughter Cheryl, followed by two sons Kelley and Dean.
Fay was a very quiet and shy individual who loved and cherished her family. She was an exceptional daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved being outdoors and had a special way with the cattle; she enjoyed bowling, gardening, and was an awesome cook. Fay had a 'green thumb' and could make anything grow. Since the early 1980's, she and Glen worked together operating a mixed farm southwest of Mankota. She also worked for a few years sorting cattle for the Mankota Stockmen's Weigh Co. She was a very hard worker and could always be counted on for help. Fay was more than just a mother, she was a friend and confidant, and a source of strength to her family.
Fay is predeceased by her parents Fred and Cecile; sisters Josephine and Lauretta. She is survived by her husband Glen Emms; daughter Kerri (Steve) Auger, grandchild Kacie; stepdaughter Cheryl (Darren) Fischer, grandchildren Sydney and Jaxon; son Kelley (Jacey) Emms, grandchildren Jesse and Nicholas; son Dean (Robyn) Emms, grandchild Halen and granddog Angus; sisters Ida-Mae (Martin) Leek and Judy (Norm) Packet.
Private family graveside service was held on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the Mankota Cemetery, followed by a time of fellowship at the Mankota Agricultural Hall. Memorial donations in memory of Fay to Jesse Emms Trust Fund, c/o Kelley and Jacey Emms, Box 243, Mankota, SK S0H 2W0, were greatly appreciated.
