Obituary of Anne Tendler
Anne Mary Tendler of Assiniboia, SK passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the age of 80 years. Anne was born on January 29, 1935, near Yorkton, SK. She was the fourth child of five born to Martin and Maggie Tuharsky. Anne attended Victoria school. She worked at the Boston Café in Yorkton, and then with her sister Gladys at Kresge’s in Regina. Anne married Melville Tendler on June 14, 1958, and they were blessed with five children, Paul, Martin, Jim, Jerry and Barry. Anne was an amazing cook and baker, and was well known for her cinnamon buns and cream puffs. After Mel’s death, Anne started working at Ross Payant Nursing home in the kitchen and worked there until her retirement in 2000. In 2008, she moved off the farm at Viceroy and in to the cottages in Assiniboia. Anne loved to dance and old time country music. Anne loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who she treasured. She loved being a part of their activities and sports. Anne will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Anne is survived by her loving family, son Paul (Cathy) Tendler, grandchildren Chris (Dominique), Brett, Carly; son Martin (Cathy) Tendler, grandchildren Daris, Brian, Dani, Trey; son Jim (Sharon) Tendler, grandchildren Derek, Dayna; son Jerry (Wendy) Tendler, grandchildren Wade, Blair, Logan; son Barry (Mylene) Tendler grandchildren Madison, Lexi; brother Fernie (Ruby) Tuharsky; brother-in-law John Tendler; sisters-in-law Muriel Robstad, Hazel Stroh, Ruth Tendler. Predeceased by her husband Mel Tendler (1978); parents Martin and Maggie Tuharsky; siblings Fran Folk, Marty Tuharsky, Gladys Tendler; brothers-in-law George Tendler, Clarence Tendler, Mel Robstad, Joe Stroh; sisters-in-law Josephine Tuharsky, Helen Tendler.
Prayers were held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., both at St. George Roman Catholic Church, Assiniboia, SK. Celebrant was Father Joy Montiague. The eulogy was shared by Dallas Loken. Honorary pallbearers and lifelong friends were Harold and Lorraine Tendler, Duwane and Shirley Oppeboen, Randy and Barb Irvin. Special friends were Dallas Loken, Glennis Jordan, Ann Ford, and Friends at Jubilee Crescent. Active pallbearers were Chris Tendler, Brett Tendler, Brian Tendler, Trey Tendler, Derek Tendler and Logan Tendler. Interment took place at Horizon Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Anne to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2M2.
