Obituary of Barbara Eileen Belle
Barbara Eileen Belle, age 77, passed away on September 26, 2016, at the Coronach Health Centre. Barbara was born January 26, 1939, in Scobey, Montana, the daughter of Delbert and Florence (Nielsen) Oglesby.
Barbara enjoyed oil painting, knitting, sewing, animals and spending time with family. She grew up riding horses, playing guitar, and listening to Elvis. Barbara attended West Fork Elementary school near her home and graduated from Peerless High School. In 1958 Barbara married Sever Belle, and following a year in Illinois, they moved to a small farm near Coronach, Saskatchewan. There the couple worked hard to make a home where they raised their children. In 1987 the couple divorced, and Barbara eventually established her home in the town of Coronach. In addition to raising their four children, Barbara loved learning and took many community classes including painting, photography, macramé, furniture restoration, as well as various cooking and sewing classes. She was very active in Girl Guides for many years. Barbara enjoyed traveling around Canada and the United States. She and her family took many trips together as her children grew up.
Barbara is survived by her brothers, Steve (Mary) Oglesby and Garry (Linda) Oglesby; her children, Sever "Tom” Belle, Linda (Chan) Crawford, Melody (Percy) Howlett, and Randall (Christina) Belle; her grandchildren Montana (Matt) Lindstrom, Deb (Jesse) Klinnert, Cliff (Misti) Crawford, Rayna Howlett, Kai Howlett, Randall Belle, Jr., Kevin Belle and Michael Belle; her six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Coronach, Saskatchewan. A Graveside Interment service followed at 1:00 p.m. at the Daniels County Cemetery in Scobey, Montana. A time of fellowship and lunch at 1:30 p.m. followed at St. Philip Bonitus Catholic Church Hall, 400 Timmons St., Scobey, MT.
