Obituary of Adrian Vataman
Adrian Paul Vataman of Assiniboia, SK passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017, at the age of 79. Adrian was predeceased by his loving wife, Nealda, on October 9, 2011; mother Mary Fylypchuk; step father Bill Fylypchuk; father Sam Vatamaniuck; brothers Otto, Octavian, Chris, Larry; sisters Dora and Georgina. He is survived by his brother Ed (Marlene); sisters Margaret, Gene (Ken) Ferg, Evy (Terry) Pickering, Geneva Peterson; sisters-in-law Lexie Vataman, Theresa Vataman, Eileen (Bob) Flath; and numerous nieces and nephews. Adrian was born on December 8, 1937, in Lafleche, SK. Adrian married Nealda Easterby on November 27, 1971, and they celebrated 39 years of marriage before her passing on October 9, 2011. For over forty years Adrian and Nealda farmed. After leaving home in his younger years, Adrian worked for a construction company that contracted with Sask Power installing power lines. He was also a heavy equipment operator. Adrian was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1970 and was a respected and loved member of the local congregation for many years. Adrian and Nealda spent many hours sharing the good news of the Kingdom as promised in the Bible. Adrian loved farming, traveling, dancing with his "bunny" Nealda, playing cards, hunting, snowmobiling -in other words he loved being outside enjoying creation. Adrian loved telling jokes and even the day before he died Adrian told his family a joke about two farmers and a horse that didn't lookee so good. Adrian will certainly be missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends. Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 1,2017, at 1:30 p.m., at Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapel, Assiniboia, SK. Speaker was Fred Reynoldson. Urn bearer was Chad Vatamaniuck. Interment took place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK. Memorial donations in memory of Adrian to the Assiniboia Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Box 1026, Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0, were greatly appreciated.
