Obituary of Janet Webster
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Janet Ellen Webster on April 9, 2017 with her family by her side after cancer stole her away from us. Janet was born August 9, 1953 in London, England and it is there she was raised. She graduated from school and went on to the University of Sussex where she gained a Bachelor of Education with 2nd degree honours. Janet lived a very fulfilled life, she loved to learn new things and gain new experiences. After she taught for many years she went on obtain various diplomas and certificates in counselling, wine and spirit education, administration among others and opened her own business in the early 90s, which in turn helped her to do what she loved-helping others. In the early part of 2003 Janet met the love of her life, Dave Webster, online and after a few years of travelling back and forth from the UK to Canada, decided to make the move in 2006 with her daughter to MacDowall, Saskatchewan. Janet often joked that she certainly did not move to Canada for the weather but rather because she finally gained her lifelong wish of having more children and the city girl embraced rural Saskatchewan life with open arms. It is in Canada where she found her calling in life, working at the Prince Albert Early Childhood Intervention Program as an interventionist. She loved her job and her coworkers were very dear to her. Eventually once all 4 kids flew the nest, Janet and Dave made the move to Bengough, SK. They had a love of the tight-knit, friendly community and felt welcomed-they had found their perfect fit. Summers were spent at their trailer at Eagle Ridge on Sturgeon Lake. Janet loved lake life and was so excited when she caught her first fish off the boat there. Janet had a love of tennis and loved watching Wimbledon. When asked what made life meaningful to her she replied her family, especially Dave and her 4 children. Having her faith was especially important to her, knowing God is always there for her. We are at peace knowing Janet went home to the Father, a place where she is no longer suffering. Janet is lovingly survived by her husband Dave; her son: Alan (Melanie) Webster, grandkids: Jay (Alondra Lugo) Hong-Thorstensen, Angelina Hong-Thorstensen; her daughters: Della (Joel) Kinequon, Philippa (Trevor Anderson) Croydon, Jennifer (Caleb Brass) Webster; brother: Eddie (Barbara) Clinch; sister-in-law: Mary (Jim Blackmore) Webster; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents: Edward and Elsie Clinch. The family would like to thank the home care staff and hospital staff in the Prince Albert and Bengough areas, Dr. Warren, and her staff. A special thanks to all of the nurses and care staff at the Bengough Health Centre, we are eternally grateful for the amazing care you gave Janet. You made a difficult time much more bearable. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Bengough, SK, with lunch to follow at the Drop In Centre. A second Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. Albans Cathedral, Prince Albert, with lunch to follow.
