Obituary of John Wilson

John "Jack” Allen Wilson passed away on March 29, 2018 at the Central Butte Regional Manor, at the age of 81 years. Jack was born January 31, 1937 in the Assiniboia Union Hospital, Assiniboia Saskatchewan. The eldest child of Wilbert and Grace (nee Bishop) Wilson. Jack had a great love of curling and had a lot of fun "bonspieling”. As the girls were growing up, they spent many fond times at the curling rink watching him curl. One of his proudest moments was when one of the teams he curled an 8 ender. He has curled in the Labatt tankard and southern play downs. Jack and his first wife Darlene Wilson handpicked their girls as a readymade family. They came to the farm on December 20, 1975. On February 18, 1995, he married his beloved wife Bernadette "Bernie” (nee Delorme). John is survived by his family; daughter Hillary (Dale) Steckler, granddaughters Jamie (Jason) McGillivray, Megan (Jake) Steckler, grandsons Kenton (Ashlee) Steckler, Ryan Steckler, great grandchildren Lucas and Everly; daughter April (Tim) Heeg, grandson Gregory (Dani) Sauer, granddaughter Allivia Sauer; daughter Suzanne (Travis) Wilson, granddaughter Britney (Tony) Hubert, grandson John M (Nicki) Hubert; step son Jody Reid; step daughter Deanna (Hank) Neumiller, step grandsons Nick Neumiller, Brett Delahey, Wade Delahey, Avery Neumiller; step daughter Destiny (Dustin) Henderson, step granddaughter Brooke Henderson, step grandson Lynden Henderson; siblings Lois (Rob) Sinclair, Gary (Bev) Wilson, Joan Hagley. Predeceased by his wife Bernadette (2016); parents Wilbert and Grace (nee Bishop) Wilson; brother-in-law Gary Hagley. A visitation was held Thursday, April 5, 2018, 7:30 p.m. at Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapels in Assiniboia, SK. Funeral Service was celebrated on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Piche-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapels, Assiniboia, Saskatchewan with Wendy Gibson officiating. Honourary Pallbearers were Brooke Henderson, Lynden Henderson, Brett DeLaHey, Wade DeLaHey, Avery Neumiller. Active Pallbearers were Jamie McGillivray, Kenton Steckler, Megan Steckler, Ryan Steckler, Gregory Sauer, Britney Hubert, John M. Hubert. Memorial Tributes in memory of Jack were greatly appreciated for the Canadian Cancer Society and the South Country Health Care Foundation for the Assiniboia Union Hospital.
