My Condolences to the family of Lyle Hanson . I would like to share some comfort found in the bible for the grieving family. Please look up in Revelation 21:3,4 . There it shows us that God will be with humanity liberating us from all suffering including man's worst enemy : death . But what about those who have died? Acts 24:15 says clearly "There will be a resurrection". What type of world will we all live in? I invite you to look up Psalms 37:10,11. I hope that this message has been a source of comfort for you. Please pray to Jehovah God to find out the truth about him and his promises through his word the bible. He will guide you to the truth.

To Fyrne and family, It was shocking to hear of Lyles passing, especially since he seemed in pretty good health the last time we were up there. My family has known the Hansons for over 90 years, having famed about 5 miles apart. I studied the catechism and was confirmed with Lyles older brother Mervin. Though Lyle was a little younger you 2 always assured my connection with my old home town, and I relished our visits. It's no fun where old age takes us, but we have to be thankfull for the life we've had, and have faith things will be better when we meet our maker. Bob and Marianne Olson

Eulogy part 1
Lyle was born in Ryder, North Dakota on March 5, 1931 to Henry Hanson & Grace (Zarn) Hanson. He was the 3rd of 5 sons. When Lyle was 5 years old, his father passed away, and his mom moved him and his brothers to the Ada district at Mossbank to be close to her family. Lyle left Mossbank for about 10 years, but returned home to farm the family land in 1964. Lyle loved his farm where he passed away peacefully, on Tuesday Dec 4, 2018
Lyle leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 65 years, Fyrne, 4 sons; Dennis (Sybrena), Wayne (Maureen), Ken (Joy), Gord (Sally), 2 daughters; LeeAnne (Dave) Foreman, Kerri (Scott) Hysuick.
2 Sisters-in-law Joyce Hanson and Raeona Hanson
15 Grandchildren; Mandy, Amber, Dustin, Katelynn and Christian, Jason, Travis and Dana, Ryan, Brandie and Brad, Rob, Mike, and Nick and Braeden and 26 Great Grandchildren
Lyle was predeceased by his parents Henry & Grace, 4 brothers; Mervin, Glenn, Eugene & Harold, daughter-in-law, Jeannine Hanson, and stepfathers; Willie Peterson and Bill Wood.
In 1943, Lyle’s mother married Willie Peterson, and the family moved to the land where Lyle and Fyrne’s home is now. Lyle, and his brothers, Glenn and Gene went to school in Expanse and then to Mossbank where they finished their grade 8. One day when he was just a little fella on his way to school Lyle found a weasel in his trap. What to do? Well as any little boy would do, he just put it in his pocket. Quite happily, he got sent home from school that day because of his stinky weasel. Despite Lyle’s limited education, he insisted on post secondary education for his kids and raised two journeyman mechanics, a power engineer and journeyman electrician, a Chartered Professional Accountant, a computer programmer, and an occupational therapist.
Lyle started work on the railway and as a farm hand for Ron & Art Goodnough and Ross Sutor. Lyle was working for Ross Sutor when he first met Fyrne. Fyrne and Lyle recounted the meeting for the family during their 65th wedding anniversary party in October. Ross and Lyle went to visit Fyrne’s Uncle Gilmer, and a simple greeting of "hi” was exchanged between them. A year later, Fyrne was working at the café, when Victor Jensen and Lyle sat down in a booth. Victor told Fyrne "Lyle wants to take you to the show”, Fyrne replied, "What’s the matter with him, hasn’t he got a tongue?” Victor rescuing his friend replied, "He’s too shy to ask you himself”, and he finally convinced Fyrne to go to the show with Lyle. Lyle recounted that during the show, Fyrne looked into his blue eyes, took his hand and said, "We are going to get married”. Lyle said he never ever had to make a single decision again.
In 1953 Lyle got his first job in Alberta on the oilrig, and they were married shortly after in Edmonton on Oct 24th of that year. When recounting their wedding day for their family, there was an argument on where they went for fried chicken after the ceremony. Lyle was positive it was downtown and Fyrne was just as positive it was on Whyte Avenue. They both agreed that the chicken wasn’t cooked, and Lyle stated instead of the advertising for a half chicken the restaurant should have advertised for a half cooked chicken. Lyle may have been shy and quiet, but those who knew him appreciated his sense of humour.
The oil rigs kept Lyle and Fyrne on the move, so Lyle invested in a homemade eight-foot trailer from Fyrne’s Uncle Gilmer. This trailer served them well, parking it wherever they landed including Wetaskiwin, Hussar, Jefferson, Calgary, Suffield, Lethbridge AB, and Eastend SK. When they lived in Hussar, AB they lived behind the grocery store, plugging into power there. It was in this small trailer parked in Jefferson, AB that Lyle learned to be able to nap anywhere at anytime, as him and Fyrne welcomed their first child, Dennis on August 27 1955. Fyrne and Lyle covered Alberta in their 10 years with Mobil Oil; Cardston to the south, and as far north as Whitecourt. Wayne was born in the hospital at Olds, AB on Aug 9, 1957. Four months later away they were on the move again, taking 3 days to go 125 miles from Drayton Valley to the camp north of Whitecourt. Mobil Oil was the first and possibly the only oil company to allow women and children in camp. Ken was born Aug. 26, 1960 and LeeAnne Jan 17, 1962, both in Edmonton. With each child came a bit bigger trailer, graduating to a two-room twenty-four foot trailer with the 4 kids. When Lyle came to pick up Fyrne with new baby LeeAnne, in his Volkswagen bug, in the frigid January Edmonton weather, he had devastating news for Fyrne, the rig had been sold and everyone was going to be unemployed as of April 1st. Despite Mobil Oil being sold, dozens of lifelong friends and memories were made. Great times were had at many Mobil Oil reunions and Fyrne and Lyle have stayed in touch with their rig friends still today.
After the rigs, they moved to Midnapore, now a part of Calgary with their trailer where Lyle worked as a welder’s helper. When he had time off he would go home and help farm with Willie Peterson and his mom. Two years later, Lyle and Fyrne bought the farm. They upgraded from their trailer to live in the newly completed basement of an old school house that they moved on to the land. The family lived in the basement for a year and a half while finishing the renovations of the upstairs.
Lyle quietly and humbly started serving his community of Mossbank while he grew his farm and family. They welcomed Gord on May 2, 1968 and Kerri -Lynne on May 27, 1975. In the winter of 64-65 Lyle began driving school bus and bombardier, and he continued driving bus for the next 10 years. He served as a counsellor for the RM of Lake Johnston for 21 years.

Fyrne,
I was going through the obituaries and came across Lyle's announcement. I am deeply sorry for your loss. What a wonderful man he was. It has been many years sice we last spoke, probably back to when Kerry was skating, but it is impossible to forget the people that have passed through my life that are gems. Lyle was certainly a gem and so are you. I just wanted to send hugs your way and hope that you will stay strong with all your wonderful family around you.
Hugs, Rebecca Lynn Bryan (used to be Lynn Smith)

Bus driver and neighbour.

I have known Lyle for many years. He was our school bus driver when we lived on the Herman farm. Lyle and Fyrne were our "next door neighbours" on the farm. He was one of the friendliest men I have ever met. It didn't matter your age or anything. He treated all of us as individuals, and worth listening to what we had to say, as kids.

Coming home through the years, he never forgot who I was. Always a smile from him, and usually time for a quick chat. It made coming to the hometown worthwhile to visit, even after the folks passed away. He will be missed by more than you know. So sorry for your loss, Fyrne, Dennis, Wayne and the girls.
