My deepest condolences to the family of Derek Lesy. I'd like to share the timeless comfort found in the Bible, particularly three things you'd like to know. 1.Your loved one is not suffering. -The Bible teaches that "The dead know nothing" and their "thoughts perish" (Ecclesiastes 9:5, Psalm 146:4). So they are not in a state of pain or suffering, on the contrary, the Bible Likens death to peaceful sleep (John 11:11). 2. God is loving and can bring you comfort. -The Bible says at Psalms 34:15 "The eyes of Jehovah are on the righteous and his ears listen to their cry for help". Notice how God listens to us. Expressing our feelings in prayer to God is more than a therapy or a helpful way to organize our thoughts. No, it's much more. You can actually cultivate a relationship with your creator, who is ready to help, and comfort you by means of his power. 3. A real hope to sustain you. -So, if your loved one is in a sleep-like condition then, similarly, they can wake up. The Bible teaches of this hope called Resurrection all throughout it's text (Acts 24:15). Notice this text found at Revelation 21:3, 4 that explains how conditions on Earth will be at that time. It states that God "will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." Jehovah, the God of the Bible promises all these things, and more. Embracing the hope to see your loved ones again will give you the strength to cope until you see them again here on Earth. If you liked what you learned, please pray to Jehovah God to learn more, and the answer might just come knocking at your door. May you have peace.
