Obituary of Caroline Louise Peterson
Caroline Peterson It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline on Wednesday January 18, 2012. She passed away peacefully with family at her side at the Bengough Health Centre. Caroline Peterson (nee Johnson) was born August 7, 1927, on a farm nine miles south of Ogema. The farm were she was born and raised, remains in the Johnson – Peterson name some 100 years later. She was the oldest of nine children. Caroline married Arthur Peterson on June 13, 1947 in Scobey, Montana with Earl Johnson as best man and Ruby Kozack as bridesmaid. After their wedding, they began their lives on the farm where they lived for the next fifty years until Arthur passed away on January 27, 1998 at the age of 75 years. The family farm was sold to a grandson and Caroline moved to live in Ogema a few years later. She resided there until 2007, and then due to health reasons, she moved to the Bengough Health Centre. Caroline was very hospitable and a very good cook. She loved spending time with her huge family whether it was playing cards or baseball. She enjoyed farm life, gardening, raising turkeys and chickens. Every fall she made a trip to Regina to sell turkeys and chickens to buy clothing for the family. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in 1973. Everyone who knew Caroline was aware of how precious her service to Jehovah was. Her love for people was evident in her determination to teach others the truth about God’s purposes. She was a true companion, loving all the time especially in distressing circumstances. She remained loyal and faithful to all she knew and especially to Jehovah right to the end. She now is resting awaiting a resurrection to life in paradise on earth. Her greatest hope was that all her family and friends welcome her back to an earthly paradise. But until that time she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Predeceased by her parents Alfred and Agnes Johnson, one son Clayton, one son-in-law Earl Penner, four brothers, Earl, Lawrence, Raymond and Mervin, and one sister Marie Johnston and, by five brother-in-laws and four sister-in-laws.
