Obituary of Marvin Wayne BROWN
Marvin Wayne was born in Herbert on January 30th, 1943. He was the eldest son of Ted and Gertrude. He attended school at Queen Centre, Lloydminster, Caronport, and then Hodgeville High where he was a member of the first graduating class. Marvin married Marjorie Costley on June 13, 1964. They lived in Regina for 2 years while he worked at SaskPower. Marvin’s passion for farming had them moving to Hodgeville where he made his home for almost 50 years.
They were blessed with four children: Lorie, Tracey, Tammy and Wade. Throughout his life, Marvin enjoyed ski-dooing with his neighbours, playing cards with his brothers-in-law, hunting, fishing, Sunday afternoon drives, raising cattle and growing crops. Two of his favourite things were combining and pushing snow with the tractor.
Marvin loved spending time with his grandchildren. Whether it was taking spelling tests, attending sporting events, seeing who could fit the most Ferrero Rochers in their mouth, or picking peas from the neighbours fields, he valued each and every moment he had with them.
Marvin is survived by his four children: Lorie (Kelly) Hornung – Jill (Colin) Brisebois, Kelsey (Scott Douglas)- Sophie, and Taylor; Tracey (Mervin) Turnbull – Demi, Braxton and Lexi; Tammy (Jarrod) Klassen – Darby; and Wade (Andrea) Brown – Mya, Amy and Jax; brother Brian (Eleanor) Brown; sisters Valerie Otto and Grace (Wayne) Gies; sister-in-law June (Frank) Benaschak; brothers-in-law Bill (Ellen) Costley; Larry (Sandra) Costley; Dwayne (Debbie) James and numerous nieces and nephews.
