Obituary of Edith Marie HAUBRICH

Edith Marie Haubrich (nee Duncan) of Hodgeville, SK, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2013. Edith was born in the Maple Creek, SK, area, to Charles and Stella (nee Hanson) Duncan, on December 11, 1918. As a young girl, Edith moved with her family to the Hodgeville area, where she attended school. After her schooling, Edith went to live with her sister Ruby and husband John Haubrich to help with childcare and homemaking. It was at this time she met John's brother, Lawrence, whom she married in 1940. They went to live and work on the family farm, and were blessed with a daughter, Darlene and a son, Harold. In 1953, they built a new home in Hodgeville and continued to farm from town. Edith and Lawrence spent many years enjoying the companionship of friends and family. Lawrence passed away on January 25, 1995. Edith was a charter member of the Catholic Women's League and a member of the Royal Purple. Edith moved to Swift Current, SK and later to the Foyer d'Youville in Gravelbourg, SK, where she passed away at the age of 94 years. Edith is survived by her loving family, daughter Darlene (Robert) Berman; son Harold (Dale) Haubrich, granddaughter Bonnie (Lanny) Dobson, great granddaughter Danielle (Mike) Myers, great great grandchildren Lillie and Nate, great grandson Rylan (Kendra) Peters, great great granddaughter Avery; granddaughter Monica (Colin) Pollard; grandson Chad (Yvonne) Haubrich, great grandchildren Gage, Jayden, Bryn and Kai; grandson Brad (Fawn) Haubrich, great grandchildren Levi and Sammy; brother Herbert (Connie) Duncan sisters-in-law Vi Duncan and Pauline Duncan. Predeceased by her husband Lawrence Haubrich (1995); parents Charles and Stella Duncan; siblings Dudley (Anna) Prescott, Clarence (Dollie) Duncan, Opal (Artie) Packard, Esther (Ernie) Pickett, Ruby (John) Haubrich, Harold (Adeline) Duncan, Vern Duncan and Pearl (Hugh) Hanson. Prayer Vigil was held on Friday, April 12, 2013, at 7:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 13, 2013,at 2:00 p.m., both from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Hodgeville, SK. Celebrant was Father Maurice Minne. The eulogy was shared by Bonnie Dobson. Readers were Brad Haubrich and Monica Pollard. Intentions were shared by Danielle Myers and Rylan Peters. Offertory gifts were presented by Kai Haubrich and Bryn Haubrich. Altar server was Barry Flichel. Musician was Deb Waldenberger. Urn bearers were Gage Haubrich and Jayden Haubrich. Honor guard was formed by the Royal Purple and Catholic Women's League. Ushers were Don Haubrich and Gerald Haubrich. Memorial donations in memory of Edith to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund, Hodgeville, SK, and St. Joseph Hospital/Foyer d'Youville Foundation, Gravelbourg, SK, are greatly appreciated.
