Obituary of Ian "Butch" Hicks

Ian "Butch” Kenneth Hicks passed away with his family at his side in Medicine Hat, AB on January 11th 2016. Butch was born on May 16, 1939 on the family farm in Buffalo Gap, SK. He was the 10th child born to Orval and Hazel Hicks. Butch was predeceased by his parents Orval and Hazel; his siblings Kathaleen, Dean, Dale, Laverne, Wayne, Dolly, Doug, Beryl and Sharon. Butch leaves to mourn his loving wife and best friend Elaine (nee Eger); son Murray; daughter Lori (Cal); daughter Rhonda (Perry); daughter Carla (Tim); son Curtis (Dawn); grandchildren Ian (Jacqui), Eric, Ryan (Kristen), Jody (Jaison), Janelle (Nick), Jeffrey (Tania), Craig, Kyle, Catlin, Garrett, Preston, Dakota, Sommer, Jaiden; great grandchildren J’Lynn, Liam, Sammie, Morgan, Nevaeh, Mason, Mackenzie; sisters Velda (Lorne) and Shirley; and many nieces and nephews. Celebration of life took place at the Coronach Community Centre on Saturday, January 16th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of Butch may be made to the Coronach Recreation Board, Box 540, Coronach, SK S0H 0Z0 or the Coronach Golf Course, Box 147 Coronach, SK S0H 0Z0 .
