Obituary of Arthur Dumonceaux
Arthur Dumonceaux passed at St. Joseph Hospital, Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, on December 31, 2019, at the age of 83 years. Born on October 31, 1936, in Ponteix, Saskatchewan, and raised on the family farm south of town, the 9th of 14 children of Jean Baptiste and Annie (née Day) Dumonceaux. He married Pierrette Larochelle on November 12, 1962, in Gravelbourg. They were blessed with six children. Arthur started working for Jacob’s in Val Marie, Saskatchewan, then later on moved with his family to Wapella, Saskatchewan, working for Normand Brother’s Case Dealership. Arthur also worked on a dairy farm. In 1979, Arthur took a mechanic job with IMC Potash Mine were he was employed for 28 years. After his retirement Arthur and Pierrette resided in Yorkton for twelve years. In 2013, they returned to Gravelbourg. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Pierrette Dumonceaux; son Alain (Kim), son Patrick (Tracy), son Réal (Linda), daughter Suzanne (Dale) and son Denis (Paulette): thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Arthur is also survived by five of his siblings: brother Paul Dumonceaux, brother Marcel Dumonceaux (Marie), sister Edna Dumonceaux (Bill Stefanik), brother Gilbert Dumonceaux (Rena), brother Hector Dumonceaux (Joan); brother-in-law Lavern Lizee, sisters-in-law Ceona Dumonceaux, Pat Dumonceaux and many nephews and nieces. Arthur is predeceased by his infant son Denis Dumonceaux; parents Jean Baptiste and Annie Dumonceaux; sisters Sylvia Lizee, Agnes Walters, Marie Cherpin, Mildred Palaschak, Helen Tinant; brothers Peter Dumonceaux, Maurice Dumonceaux, Albert Dumonceaux; brothers-in-law Jos Tinant, Jos Walters, John Palaschak, Raymond Cherpin; sisters-in-law Laurence Dumonceaux and Cecile Dumonceaux. Graveside Funeral Service was held on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery. Celebrant was Father Carlos Jimenez, Urn Bearer was Réal Dumonceaux. Memorial donations in memory of Arthur to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Avenue Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 3X1 were greatly appreciated.
