Obituary of Mavis Cossette

Mavis of Swift Current, SK passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Willow Creek Manor, Swift Current, SK at the age of 90 years. Irene Mavis McNeill was born on April 7, 1929 on the family farm near Shamrock, SK to Lena (nee Buhr) and Walter McNeill. She travelled extensively as a young married woman until they settled in Trewdale, SK. Here she ran the post office and general store.They had three children, Penny, Rhonda and Garry. Mavis always had an abundance of food for family and friends who would stop in often. In 1991, Armand and Mavis moved from the farm to the city of Swift Current, SK. There they enjoyed their retirement together, spending their time; gardening, crafting, going to yard sales with friends and family. In her final years Mavis moved into Willow Creek Manor, Swift Current, SK. Mavis will be dearly missed by friends and family. Mavis is predeceased by her husband Armand Cossette (2011) and daughter Rhonda Cossette (2005).  She is survived by her brother Robert McNeill (Iris), sisters Mary Wedhorn, Gladys Heinrichs and all her favorite nieces and nephews; her children Penny (Frank) Carrierre, son Garry (Donna) Cossette, son-in-law Garry Chamberlin; grandkids Bryan (Joan) Carriere, Sue Carriere, Jamie Carriere, Jenesse (Justin) Chamberlin-Middlemiss, Kristal Karoloff, Bethany (James) Graham; and the great-grandchildren Cole, Taylor, Sarah, Reece, Blake, Gavin, Dylan, Ava, Liam, Mina, Jade and Shyanne. Special thanks to the staff and owners of the Willow Creek Manor for the exceptional care extended to Mavis. Graveside Service to be held Saturday, July 4, 2020, 2:00 p.m.  Shamrock, SK with Sam Hawkins presiding. Urn Bearers will be all her grandchildren.
