Once upon a time, last century, I lived in Hazenmore and first met Lynn (when we were about 6 yrs old) at a fowl supper in Lafleche. He was a spunky cut-up then and my most vivid memory was "Lynn - isn't that a girl's name??" Fast forward to 1974 and we met again in Ottawa as fresh recruits with Revenue Canada. We immediately bonded with some other "stubble-jumpers" and formed a sort of "Prairie Mafia" with Lynn being our key card-shark and chess player. Later that year, Lynn & I were in Toronto on a training session and he proudly introduced me to the "woman he was going to make his wife". I was envious of the love and devotion that was so clearly evident between them, even at that time. I made another trip to Lafleche in the summer of 1975 as part of the tax crew that crashed their wedding! I was devastated and heart-broken when I stumbled upon his obit. Although we lost touch over the years, I am grateful to have known Lynn and Debbie. I want to express my respect and homage for the kind, gentle, witty and often silent, but strong, leadership he brought to his family and community. My deepest condolences to all those who shared Lynn with us.

My heart goes out to Lynn’s family, friends and to the Lafleche community who has lost a great man. I spent a few years as a work experience student in Lynn’s office on Fridays when I was in high school. I will always remember Lynn as a role model - very professional, patient, donating his skills and countless hours to the community, an excellent listener and problem solver.
I remember one day at the office he showed me how to prepare a personal tax return and when we were through I told him “wow, you make that seem a lot easier than I thought” and he responded, “well don’t tell anybody, that’s an accountant’s secret,” and we had a good laugh together.
He had a real gift of helping others and alleviating stress during hard times like a loss in the family, a tough business decision, or a tax audit. He was a great listener and provided his advice in a humble way.
When I was close to graduating I remember him encouraging me to consider a professional designation. He explained the flexibility being an accountant afforded him in his career. He told me how great it was to take afternoon off to be with family, to have Kyla work with him in the office, to volunteer his skills serving on several boards and to assist with community events. He told me how he decided to move home from the city to farm after his dad passed away and how it was the best decision he ever made. His accounting office was a vital business in the community and watching him help others was inspiring.

To Debbie and all in her family,
I had the pleasure of working for and with Lynn since 1984. He was the fairest and the most patient man I have ever met. He taught me so much. It was a joy going to work. Always coming in the side door which leads directly into my office- greeting me with a good morning and commenting that he would have to get a paper cut out of me in case I wasn't at my desk when he arrived. We had many Friday "tea times". I have so many memories. I always considered him a very dear friend. I will miss him so much.
Sending you all our deepest sympathies.

Sincere condolences from Pat and Lana Klein. Lynn was a great friend who i saw all too little of over the years. I still occasionally use Lynn’s method of determining the contact point between the club face and the golf ball. Not to go into detail here but you’ll need a supply of dry erase markers. Lynn will be greatly missed. All our best wishes Debbie and family.

Still coming to grips with this news that my cousin ,who re-kindled the connection with my aunty Ina , Lynns mother, and myself and her hometown here in Scotland has left us all. He was certainly everything that all the condolances posted said of him and it will be strange to come back to Lafleche when its permissable, and we are,nt going to Thomson Lake for these golf nights and days and sharing a Wilsons when the*Sun crossed the mainbrace* Bill Taylor Bonnyrigg, Midlothian. I am sad to see this on my news feed today. I worked for Lynn for a couple years in the Gravelbourg office. I learned a lot there. He was definitely a numbers guy. I think back on our Happy Hour chats in tax season. Back then it was Crown Royal. My sympathies to Debbie and the family.

We are so sorry for your loss. Our deepest sympathy to you and your family Debbie. He was such a great friend. I have many fond memories of Lynn. Knowing him for 60 plus years, 11 years together in school. playing hockey, baseball and rafting on the old dam as kids. Later on in life, our involvement in curling, Sask. Wheat Pool and the Legion. (The many bonspiels we planned and curled in together) And I can't leave out my close to 40 years doing business with Sutherland Accounting. Lynn loved crunching numbers at tax time and always made that time of year easier to take. I'm going to miss my comrade.

I first met Lynn years ago, we shared the love of snowmobiling and met on a poker derby that my dad brought me to. Later in life, I worked for Lynn for 10 short months where I was able to witness his love for his family, golfing, volunteering, farming, and accounting. I will remember those times as I age and I am grateful for the time I experienced as his employee. He will be truely missed and I send my condolences to the family.
