We are so sorry for the loss of this exceptional woman. She had a very bright light that was so evident to all that knew her - I loved connecting with her on facebook in her later years - what a cool woman. I really loved reading about her life - women like her are an inspiration to all of us. Lots of love and prayers from the Ikram family (Rochelle, Omar, and Zayd)

Joy will be missed a lot by everyone. As well as caring for her family and helping with the farm, she helped with many community events and projects. She worked for many years to make McCord Museum a very special place. We were very thankful for her and have many memories of her to cherish. All her family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Bill and Audrey Wilson

I have wonderful memories of Auntie Joy. As a young boy I visited the farm many times. She was always kind, humorous and caring. She had an inclusive and friendly approach to life and the people around her. I remember one time when Uncle Loyd had had a few to many and she let him have it. He never said a word but I am sure he got the message. I know there was a real love between them and they struggled to make a better life for their 5 children. I loved being in their home and, in many ways, felt more comfortable there than in my own. To me she was a strong anchor for a wonderful family. Ross Sinclaire

Auntie Joy and uncle Lloyd maintained the Jones family heritage. I feel great deal of gratitude for their hard work, dedication, and kindness. They were always open to share and as kids we had the opportunity to experience our history. Auntie Joy lived her values and had a peaceful presence that was inclusive and created sense of safety. I am grateful for the experiences I had as on the farm and my thoughts and prayers are with the family and auntie Joy as she transitions to her new life. Much Love, Vivian
