Our condolences go out to Aunt Mary and Crooks family on the passing of Uncle Ken. Some of my best childhood and teen memories are spending time in the summer on the Crooks farm. Although having Uncle Ken gone won’t change those memories, it is still sad so see someone leave who had such an impact on my life. Kellie and I are thinking of you.

Sending my condolences to Mary and to the Ken Crooks Family. Growing up just a mile and a bit from your family was such a pleasure. From our dining and living room window, your yard was our visible neighbor. We would watch for the school bus to circle through the Crook's yard and we would then have our countdown to be out at our gate for pickup. Visiting with Ken would always involve a story, his wide smile and a soulful laugh that really meant something. Growing up with your family, Ken would see the mischief that Darrell and I would be into, and he would be watchful, but accommodating. It was so fitting that when our family farm was to come to a close, it was our close neighbor that continued the operation of the Terrance O'Neill homestead quarter, the preemption quarter and the half section that I grew up on. In my last year of farming, with my line of machinery coming to its end of use, Ken did not hesitate to lend me a set of discers to use to put in my last crop after an untimely equipment breakdown. It was probably Ken's smile and good-hearted laugh that fueled him through a good, long life. I send my heartfelt wishes to all of you at this time of loss.
Best Wishes, Randy O'Neill

Condolences to all you of the Crooks family. Ken and Dad (Oswald) "hung out" in their earlier years, I believe when they were single and farm neighbours. Ken and Mary were always fine friends and neighbours. I remember my first ever meal of goose was in their little house on the farm, probably under kerosene lamps. We shared many-a-mile on the school bus with the boys and Heather. All great memories! We have lost another fine gentleman, lots of wisdom and counsel, a historian, a real community guy. From our family to yours... we share your loss.
