Obituary of Eileen KIRKPATRICK

Eileen Kirkpatrick Mary Eileen Kirkpatrick of Lalfeche, SK, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at the age of 91 years. Eileen was born on the family farm in the Lafleche district on April 20, 1922. She was the third of Charles and Catherine (nee O’Neill) McCabe’s four daughters. Eileen attended school in Lafleche. She taught at Dorgan School for two terms and one term at Truax. It was while teaching at Truax that Eileen met her future husband, Raymond Kirkpatrick. They were married on October 23, 1945, and celebrated 68 years of marriage together. Eileen and Raymond were blessed with 10 children, Leonard, Janet, John, Ralph, Marian, Murray, Floyd, Vince, Terrence and Brian. Eileen was on the board for Mathieu School for 10 years and was a charter member of the Lafleche Catholic Women’s League. Eileen treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Above all, Eileen loved her family and was very proud of them and will be greatly missed. Eileen is survived by her loving husband Raymond; son Leonard (Irene), granddaughter Lisa (Wilf), great grandchildren Daylen, Rachel, granddaughter Lori; daughter Janet (Herb) Tressel, grandson Randy (Michelle), great grandchildren Brooke, Jack, Lauren, grandson Greg (Jackie), great granddaughters Sarah, Sydney, grandson Kim, grandson Chris, granddaughter Tracy (Richard), great granddaughter Emma; son John; son Ralph; daughter Marian (Jim) Kleckner, granddaughter Christine (Shane), great grandchildren Oliver, Emile, grandson Michael (Krista); son Murray (Cathy), granddaughter Jennifer (Ryan), granddaughter Katie, granddaughter Rebecca; son Floyd (Beth), granddaughter Kaylee (Jeremy), great granddaughter Anabelle, grandson Kevin; son Vince; son Terry (Cathy), granddaughter Chloë (Dayton), granddaughter Eilysh (Mac); son Brian; sisters Bernice Griffin and Kay Cameron. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Catherine McCabe; sister Florence (Raymond) Bourassa; daughter-in-law Diane Kirkpatrick; brothers-in-law Herman Cameron, Kevin Griffin. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Ste Radegonde Roman Catholic Church, Lafleche, SK, with Father Maurice Minne celebrant. Cross bearer was Paul Bourassa. Readers were Brian Kirkpatrick and John Kirkpatrick. Prayers of the faithful were shared by Murray Kirkpatrick. Offertory gifts were presented by Chloë Kirkpatrick and Eilysh Kirkpatrick. Music was shared by Jackie Poirier, Glenda Crooks and Terry Kirkpatrick. Active pallbearers were Kevin Kirkpatrick, Michael Kleckner, Lori Kirkpatrick, Greg Tressel, Chris Tressel and Kim Tressel. Interment took place at the Lafleche Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Eileen to the Ste Radegonde Building Fund, Box 518, Lafleche, SK S0H 2K0 were greatly appreciated.
