Obituary of Louise Piche

Louise (Grondin, Therrien) Piché, aged 92 years of Willow Bunch, SK passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK with family by her side.  Louise was born on December 4, 1929, to Edward and Sarah Grondin on the family farm near Verwood, SK. She was the seventh child of nine. In 1950, her parents sold the farm and moved to White Rock, B.C. Louise remained here teaching school and also worked at the Willow Bunch Co-op Store. She married Francis Therrien on October 29, 1951, in Moose Jaw. They resided and raised their five sons in Willow Bunch, SK. Sadly, Francis passed away on April 23, 1986. Louise was a member of St. Ignace Parish, the Catholic Women’s League, was actively involved with Willow Bunch Tourism and worked for a brief time with Home Care. She was a wonderful cook and made the best pies ever, with a crust that was second to none.   She loved animals and found great joy in raising a few chickens in the backyard. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, yard work, loved square dancing, and playing cards. In 1991 Louise married Paul Piché at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Church. They enjoyed travelling as well as visiting their extended families.  She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Sarah Grondin; husbands Francis Therrien and Paul Piché; daughter-in-law Carolyn Therrien; brothers Ed (Ethel) Grondin and Stan Grondin; sisters Irene (Ernie) Fox, Evelyn (Leonce Beauchesne) (George Thul), Sister of Sion Gladys Grondin and Helen (Vernon Wickberg) (Mac Robinson); sister-in-law Eleanor Grondin. Louise is survived by her son Dwight (Lynne)Therrien, grandchildren Christopher (Janet) and Charlene (Devon); son Wayne Therrien, grandchildren Mandy (Aaron), Brad (Sarah) and Evan (Sydne); son Garry (Diane) Therrien, grandchildren Kelly (Veronica), Jesse (Jenna) and Aaron; son Michael Therrien, grandchildren Stephanie, Katie (Danny Jr.) and Kerry (Steven); son Patrick (Tamara) Therrien, grandchildren Stacey (Justin), Blair and Eric (Sara) and 16 great-grandchildren. Louise also leaves to mourn two siblings Kenneth Grondin and Anne (John) Olsen; sisters-in-law Loreen Grondin, Cecile Marit, Doris Johnson (Dave); brothers-in-law Pete (Yolande) Therrien, Roger (Mary) Therrien; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service was held on Friday, May 13, 2022, 11:00 am, at Piché-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapels, Assiniboia, SK, with Father Dennis Remot celebrant. Urn bearer was Michael Therrien. Readers were Stacey Therrien and Tamara Therrien. Special music was shared by Blair Therrien. Eulogist was Patrick Therrien. Interment took place at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Cemetery, Willow Bunch, SK.
