Obituary of Mary Connors
It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved soulmate and lifelong partner. Mary Agnes (née Grady) Connors, Mary passed away peacefully in the early morning of September 13, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Gravelbourg after her final battle with cancer. She had just celebrated her 81st birthday on August 26, 2024.
Born and raised in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, Mary was the second child of Robert “Bud” Grady and Annette Fortin, with her older brother James Grady. She lived her entire life at 201 6th Avenue West, where she built a life filled with love, family, and community. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital for a time before becoming a secretary for a law firm. On April 11, 1964, she married the love of her life, Al Connors, and in Sept. 25 1965, they welcomed their only daughter, Debbie.
Mary and Al became the Imperial Oil dealers in 1967, working side by side for nearly 24 years. A talented artist, Mary enjoyed creating beautiful greeting cards and artwork. She and Al loved spending time with friends at Thomson Lake, but the true joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Al Connors; daughter Debbie Tendler; granddaughter Jasmine Chevrier, great-grandchildren Havyn and James; grandson Joshua (Theresa) Tendler, great-grandchildren Jack and Lexi; sister-in-law Juliette Gallagher; and close friend, Carol Lamarre.
