There are so many cherished memories I have of Uncle Allain. I fondly remember our annual summer visits at Memere & Pepere’s home where Uncle Allain would take us kids with him to pick chokecherries and saskatoons, and would sit with me as I read my picture books to him at Memere’s kitchen table. At that time, he had quite the tool collection, and would proudly show us what he had fixed or built with them. I especially remember how he would always light up with a smile when his sister Rheanne (my mother) would give him slippers that she had knitted with $2 bills and chocolate bars hidden in each. Uncle Allain always had a special place in her heart; I take comfort in the knowledge that sister and brother are together again.

Alain will be greatly missed! I will cherish the times we had together ( our strolls in Gravelbourg in his wheelchair, walking down the hallways of the foyer, going for ice cream and enjoying a coke) He always asked about his family, what they were doing and how they were feeling. He always asked what was new on the farm and loved going there to check out the crops and his favorite car! He loved receiving $5 bills to add to his collection and used some to buy his coke and chocolate bars, he had such a sweet tooth! You have taught me patience and the little things in life to cherish, as you seen life in a different light and the true meaning of our purpose. May you rest in peace now in the arms of Memere and Pepere Je t'aime
