Obituary of Alain Boutin
On Saturday, March 2, 2019, Alain Joseph Boutin passed away in his sleep peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital/Foyer d’Youville, Gravelbourg, SK, at the age of 79 years. Alain was born in Gravelbourg on July 8, 1939, a brother to Raymond and Rheanne and a bundle of joy to Wilfrid and Gracia. Alain was the second of three children. Alain grew up in Gravelbourg until he was 30 years of age. At that point, he moved to Valley View in Moose Jaw, where he made his home there surrounded by his friends and fellow coworkers. He made many friends at this all-boys institution but also liked to keep to himself. He had many jobs while at Valley View, like kitchen help at the cafeteria cleaning tables and dishes. He knew the ins and outs there as he made this his home for many years and knew every hiding spot there. Alain moved back home to Gravelbourg at the Foyer d’Youville in 2014, where he enjoyed more frequent visits from family. He soon started going to IPI once a week to interact with others. He so enjoyed his chocolate, coke, and receiving his $5.00 bill. Alain is predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Gracia (nee Lefort) Boutin and his only sister Rheanne. He leaves to mourn his brother Raymond (Odile), nieces Aline, Laurianne, Cecile, Monique, Valeda, Anita and all their families; nieces Denise, Michelle, and Suzanne and their families; and numerous cousins. Alain is reunited with mémère and pépère. May he rest in peace. Je t'aime. Funeral Mass was held on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Piché-Hawkins-Grondin Funeral Chapels, Gravelbourg, SK with Father Carlos Jimenez celebrant. The reader was Val Michaud. Active pallbearers were Monique, Val, Aline, Anita, Laurianne Cecile, Michelle, Denise, and Suzanne. Interment took place at the Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery.
