Obituary of Edie Klein
Edith Mary (Thomas) Klein
September 25, 1948 - October 11, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce that Edie passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK.
Edie was born in Toronto, ON but due to her father’s WWII health, the family moved to sunny California in 1953. She enjoyed California life: swimming, horseback riding, skating, the beach, school and shows. After completing her Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge, she returned to Toronto.
After her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Toronto and teaching in Ontario, Edie knew she was a westerner at heart and took a teaching job at Cumberland House, SK in 1976. A year later she and Michael met while visiting friends in Wood Mountain, SK. They married July 8, 1978, in Laflèche, SK. In a full life together of 39 years, they shared a sense of humour, were blessed with three wonderful children, and were committed to one another, their families and community.
Edie was predeceased by her mother, Mary Georgina (de Wynter) Thomas (2008) and father, George David Thomas (1971) and beloved husband Michael Denis Klein (2017). She is survived by her sons John (Jerilyn Nixon/Dominic and Maxim), Brian (Karen [Sawyer]/Micah and Judah), her daughter Angela Carnall (Jay/Lydia) and her brother Robert (Mary) Thomas.
The family welcomes all who wish to attend Edie’s graveside service on Sunday October 17, 2021 at 2:00pm at Ste Radegonde Cemetery, Laflèche, SK. Masks and physical distancing are required.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Wood Mountain Hall, Library or the Terry Fox Foundation.
